"Necklaces made from clay tobacco pipes found on the foreshore of the River Thames in London UK.

These pipes were smoked once and thrown into the river. Some are 300 years old.

The method of firing the pipes and the temperature they were fired to in the kiln plus all the years in the water have produced a wonderful varied palette."

Now on sale at Tate Edit at Tate Modern. Bankside London
